Tour Notes:

Lunch

There are plenty of cafes in the Old City to eat lunch whilst on your trip.  If you would like us to arrange lunch for you, the charge is an extra $20 per person.

Airport Pick Up

For transfers from the Airport add a total of $40 per car or $80 per van (half this if only one way).

Dead Sea Pick Up

For transfers from the Dead Sea add a total of $40 per car or $80 per van (half this if only one way).

Pick Up from other destinations in Jordan

For tours starting from other destinations in Jordan, please contact us for details of the extra costs.

Return via the northern Jordan River / Sheikh Hussein Crossing.

If returning to Amman via the Jordan River Crossing Sheikh Hussein instead of Allenby/ King Hussein Bridge, add $200. Note the exit tax at this border is NIS 103 pp (approximately $32). You also need to pay for a Jordan visa at this border which is JOD 20 pp (approx $30).

VIP Crossing Service at the border

For the short tours, we recommend clients consider using the VIP service.  It is a service run by the border staff at the Allenby Crossing.  It costs approximately $110 per person, per journey.  They provide private transportation across the 3Km ‘no man’s land’ between the Jordanian and Israeli terminals.  It also means you jump all the lines at immigration and passport control, passing through the border in about 1 hour.  Without this service you will need to queue and wait for the shared shuttle bus, which could take 1-2 hours during less busy days, but may take longer depending on border traffic. Please note, the VIP service does not mean there will be less security checks, and you will still have to wait for the authorities to finish border procedures. This optional service will give you more touring time in Jerusalem, and the fee for this service is paid directly to the VIP office at the border.

Tours on Friday & Saturday – Early Border Closing on Weekend

Please be aware that the border closes early on Fridays and Saturdays (around 1pm or earlier), so we recommend not finishing a tour on these days.  It is possible to finish a tour on these days if you return via the northern Jordan River / Sheikh Hussein crossing point, which closes slightly later on the weekend, however this will increase the cost and travel time – one would need to leave Jerusalem around 4pm,  and a minimum of $200 will be added to the total trip cost.

Pick Up Times

The border opens at 8:00am (Israeli time), so we recommend pick ups to arrive at the border at this time.  From Amman we suggest a 7:00am pick up and 7:30am from the Dead Sea.  Arriving at the border at opening time allows one to catch the first shuttle bus between the Jordanian and Israeli terminals. The first bus leaves 30 minutes after the border opens.  Afterwards the departure times are sporadic, and can lead to an hour wait or more.  Unless your itinerary dictates otherwise, we recommend arriving at the border at opening time.

Payment

Payment is via our paypal account, which can be paid via credit, debit card or another paypal account. Alternatively, you may pay directly by credit card over telephone or email.  When you confirm your booking details, please let us know how you would like to pay and we will send an invoice to you.  Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

Luggage

We recommend traveling with carry on hand luggage in order to save time at the border.  Keep your luggage with you and have it checked at the personal security check.

Early Closure of Bridge

Occassionally the Israelis close Allenby Bridge early. This only occurs in special circumstances and is unannounced, usually occurring a few times each year. In this situation it is possible to travel via Jordan Valley Crossing which is 90 minutes north of Allenby/ King Hussein Bridge.
