The adventure begins at 7:30 am after breakfast, as the group departs Amman for a 2.5-hour drive to the trek’s starting point. Use this time to rest or get acquainted with fellow travelers.

The trek kicks off in the stunning Dana Biosphere Reserve, renowned for its four distinct ecozones that host an incredible variety of flora and fauna. The route starts with a scenic trail along the mountains overlooking Dana Valley before descending into the peaceful al Khashasha Valley, where a wilderness campsite awaits.

After a restful night, the journey continues with an early morning hike toward Furon. This challenging yet rewarding day begins with a steep climb through the mountains, offering panoramic views of the Sharah Mountains and Wadi Araba Desert. These awe-inspiring landscapes guide you to the campsite at Al Furon, where you can relax with a cup of tea and enjoy the serene atmosphere before dinner.

This day’s route ventures through some of Jordan’s most untamed areas. The trail winds along the Sharah Mountains, following paths historically used by Bedouin shepherds. The rugged peaks and dramatic canyon views make this part of the trek especially memorable. As you progress, the desert’s stark beauty unfolds, gradually giving way to softer terrain marked by fascinating mushroom-shaped rock formations.

Signs of human activity appear as the trek nears Little Petra. Passing Bedouin camps, small farms, and sheep pens offers insight into rural Jordanian life. Along the way, you’ll encounter ancient Nabataean sites, including wine presses, aqueducts, and water systems.

The trail climbs through sandstone canyons before descending via steep steps into Siq al-Barid, or "Cold Canyon," believed to have served as a trading hub on the Silk Road. After exploring this fascinating area, unwind at the nearby camp, where hot showers await.

The final trekking day offers a unique entrance to Petra, bypassing the usual crowds. A well-trodden path descends through Wadi Ghurab and follows a Nabataean trail around the mountains. The route narrows before reaching a hidden plateau with breathtaking views of Wadi Siyyagh.

Emerging from the plateau, you’ll catch sight of the Monastery, one of Petra’s iconic landmarks. After some time to rest and enjoy refreshments, descend via Nabataean steps to the main site. The journey through Petra includes highlights like the colonnaded street, ancient tombs, and the Roman-style theater, culminating at the Treasury. Take in the intricate details of this world-famous façade before exiting through the Siq, a narrow canyon flanked by towering rock walls.
