The tour starts and ends in Amman. (We can arrange elsewhere in Jordan for an additional cost.) We will take you the Jordanian border (King Hussein/ Allenby Bridge) and on to the gate of Jerusalem’s Old City where you can explore the sites on your own following our suggested itinerary, which includes the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Wailing Wall, Jaffa Gate, and St Anne’s. At your chosen time (7:00 pm at the latest), we will pick you up from just outside Jerusalem's New Gate to take you back to Amman.

This is a private self-guided tour to Jerusalem from Amman.
Lunch: There are plenty of cafés in the Old City where you can eat lunch. We can arrange lunch for you for an additional cost of $20 per person.
Airport pick-up: For transfers to and from Queen Alia Airport, add a total of $40 per car or $80 per van (half this if only one way).
Dead Sea pick-up: For transfers from the Dead Sea, add a total of $40 per car or $80 per van (half this if only one way).
Pick-up from elsewhere in Jordan: Please contact us for details of the extra cost.
: If returning to Amman via the Jordan River Crossing (Sheikh Hussein) instead of the Allenby/ King Hussein Bridge, add $200. The exit tax at this border is NIS 103 per person (approx. $32). You also need to pay for a Jordan visa at this border, which is JOD 20 per person (approx. $30).
For day tours, we recommend clients consider using the VIP service, which saves time. This is a service run by the border staff at the Allenby Crossing. It costs approximately $110 per person per journey. They provide private transportation across the 3 km ‘no man’s land’ between the Jordanian and Israeli terminals. Using this service means you avoid all the lines at immigration and passport control and normally get through the border in 1 hour. Without this service, you have to line up and also wait for the shared shuttle bus. On good days this can take 1-2 hours, but can take longer, depending on traffic. Please note that the VIP service does not involve fewer security checks, and you may still have to wait if the authorities want to ask you any questions. If you would like to use this service, please let us know. The fee for this service is paid directly by you to the VIP office at the border.
: Please be aware that the border closes early on Fridays and Saturdays (around 1 pm or earlier), so we recommend not doing the day tour to Jerusalem tour on these days. It is possible to do the tour on these days if you return via the Northern Jordan River/ Sheikh Hussein crossing point, which closes slightly later on the weekend, but this adds a lot of travelling time and will increase the cost. To do this, you will need to leave Jerusalem around 4 pm, and it will add a minimum of $200 to the total trip cost.
The border opens at 8:00 am (Israeli time), so we recommend pick-ups to get to the border for this time. Normally from Amman we suggest a 7:00 am pick up, and 7:30 am from the Dead Sea. Arriving just as the border opens allows you to catch the first shuttle bus between the Jordanian and Israeli terminals. The first bus leaves 30 minutes after the border opens. After this, departure times are sporadic, and can lead to an hour wait or more. Unless your itinerary dictates otherwise, we therefore recommend these pick-up times.
Payment is via our PayPal account, and can be paid by credit, debit card or another PayPal account. Alternatively, you can pay directly by credit card over the phone or by email. When you confirm your booking details, please let us know how you would like to pay, and we will send you an invoice. You booking will be confirmed on receipt of payment
: We recommend travelling with carry-on hand luggage only to save time at the border. Keep your luggage with you and have it checked at the personal security check.
Occasionally, the Israelis close Allenby Bridge early. This only occurs in special circumstances and is unannounced; it happens around twice a year. If this happens, it is possible to travel back via the Jordan Valley Crossing, which is 90 minutes north of the Allenby/ King Hussein Bridge.
