You will be met at Queen Alia Airport in Amman and assisted through customs and immigration by a member of our team before being taken to your hotel in Amman to stay overnight.

After breakfast, we drive north to visit Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy, and Ajloun, site of a 12th-century Saracen castle built by one of Saladin's lieutenants. In the evening we return to Amman for the night

After breakfast we will drive to Madaba to visit the famous mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land in St George's church. The next stop will be Mount Nebo, from where like Moses you will be able to overlook the Holy Land and the Dead Sea, including, if the sky is clear, Jerusalem, Jericho and Bethlehem. We will then take the Desert Highway to Little Petra (Siq al Barid), the northern customs outpost for the Nabatean capital.  After a walk to see a portion of Nabatean fresco in one of the many carved and decorated caves and Baidha, a pre-pottery Neolithic site which is one of the earliest known agricultural settlements. We will camp in Little Petra overnight.

After breakfast, we will hike through a beautiful and little-travelled canyon to the Monastery in Petra. From the top of Petra at the Monastery, we will make our way down to explore the main monuments of the rose-red city: the spectacular Treasury, Royal Tombs, burial chambers and High Place of Sacrifice, ending at the Siq. We will eat a Bedouin dinner and camp in Petra.

In the morning, hike from your camp at the Snake Monument, to Jebel Haroun, the tomb of prophet Aaron, and enjoy the panoramic views of Petra and Wadi Araba, then hike back to the camp at the Snake Monument.

We will explore Petra further in the morning on our way out of the site, then drive along the King's Highway to Wadi Rum. We will arrive in time to admire the sunset before going to a private Bedouin camp. The camp has all facilities, including mattresses, blankets, pillows, beds in a small private tents and European-style bathrooms with showers and flush toilets.

Day 7 :
Wadi Rum

This day is dedicated to exploring Wadi Rum. You will pass the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom described by Lawrence of Arabia and explore Wadi Rum by jeep in a full-day trip to see Lawrence's Spring and inscriptions made by the Thamudic and Nabatean people centuries ago. We will also visit Khazzall Canyon and the Little Stone Bridge, where you can climb one of the natural rock bridges and some sand dunes. We then head for Umm Fruth Bridge, the house where Lawrence of Arabia lived, Burdah rock bridge and Barrah Canyon. Finally we will return to the desert camp for the night.

In the morning, we travel to the Dead Sea for a few hours. As soon as you arrive, you will check in your hotel where you will stay overnight, and spend the rest of the day relaxing in the Dead Sea where even non-swimmers can float in the salty waters at the lowest terrestrial point on Earth. Dead Sea mineral water nourishes and softens the skin and is said to help pain from arthritis, rheumatism, psoriasis, eczema and stress and you can enjoy mineral-rich mudpacks.

We will drive back to Amman and the airport for you to catch your flight, whenever that may be.
