Itinerary
Our representative will meet you at Queen Alia Airport and assist you through customs, then take you to our hotel in Amman.
In the morning, we will drive south to Madaba, the city of mosaics, where we will visit the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land housed in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. We will continue on to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Holy Land and, it is said, died and was buried. The West Bank City of Jericho is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day. Next, we will head for the Dead Sea some 400 meters below sea level, where you can enjoy an unforgettable swimming experience in the mineral-rich buoyant water and perhaps a therapeutic black mud massage. We will eat lunch here before continuing south to Petra, where we will stay overnight.
Petra, one of the new seven wonders of the world, was the trading capital of the Nabateans carved into the red sandstone mountains. For our first hours, an English-speaking guide will introduce us to the main monuments, including the Treasury (Al Khazneh), the Amphitheatre and the Royal Tombs. For the remainder of the day you will be able to wander at your leisure, exploring the colonnaded street, the Great Temple, Qasr al Bint, the High Place of Sacrifice and the Monastery. In the evening you will head back to your hotel in Petra.
In the morning, we will transfer to Wadi Rum and explore the weather-sculpted desert by jeep for 4 hours, visiting Nabataen inscriptions, Lawrence's Cave and the Rock Bridge. After lunch in Wadi Rum, we return to Amman.
We will transfer you to the airport in time to check in for your flight home.
