Picking you up at Araba south border and crossing the border the day before your tour to Petra, you’ll stay overnight in a hotel in the Jordanian resort city of Aqaba.
pick up from your hotel in Aqaba and drive like 80 Km drive via the Desert Highway to Petra followed by a 35 Km drive on the King’s Highway before we reach Petra. We stop near Hassan Prince Palace for a grand view of Petra’s mountains and the Rift Valley.
As soon as you arrive to the entrance of Petra, you will have a short horse ride down to the Siq, where you start your guided tour by walking in the ancient city of Petra. You will be amazed by the most gorgeous facade of Petra the Treasury.
The Treasury of Petra got its famous name from the Bedouin belief that pirates hid ancient pharaoh treasures at the top of the facade.
You will also visit the Theatre of Petra, the Royal Tombs and Facades and the Roman Street. An open buffet lunch will be offered at the Bedouin Tent Restaurant in the site of Petra . Once we are back in the Central part of Petra city you will have time for shopping at the Bedouin Bazaars.

you really need to take a taxi from Eilat , on the meter (ask the driver if that will include your luggage or not). The fare is approx 25 to 30 NIS ($8) per taxi from Eilat bus station to the Yitzhak Rabin border, leading into Aqaba.
Plan B: If you get off your bus at the The Yitzhak Rabin Terminal border bus stop, it is just before Kibbutz Eilot (before the bus finally arrives into Eilat). You can get off at a junction* from where you could walk from that main road to the border.
If you have planned to do this make sure
(a) you have told the bus driver well beforehand, and
(b) that you have your luggage easily accessible, to extract from the hold of the bus. It’s a long 2-3 km walk from the main road, to the Yitzhak Rabin border.
The border crossing is located a 5-minute, ILS30 ($8) taxi ride from Eilat’s airport. At “Yitzhak Rabin Terminal”one-page general information sheet in English that explained passport and visa requirements, along with a list of fees and Customs rules (e.g., “It is strictly forbidden to import to Jordan drinking water, food,…”). At the first stop you pay exit fee of ILS 100 along with a commission of ILS3 (total, about $27 each), cash only. Receipts will be provided at the next stop, where passports stamped. Then you walk about 100 meters across a no-man’s-land to Jordan border . There is luggage inspection where our team will meet you.
We recommend bringing good walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water, and snacks. Warm clothing/a jacket are also recommended for overnight tours and tours during the winter months. We also recommend that you bring extra cash.
We use 3-star hotels on all our overnight tours, all of which have a 4 out of 5 or higher score on TripAdvisor. The regular hotel we use at Petra is generally considered to be 4-star. We often change hotels due to seasons and demand, but we are happy to give you an exact hotel name for your trip if you contact us with dates. Some tours include overnights in a Bedouin camp instead of hotels, but you may opt for a hotel instead if you ask in advance to arrange this.
